6 – 9pm EST.
30 class hours

Overview
In this class we will take a close look at functional perspective drawing in an effort to reconcile it to optical perception and freehand gesture drawing, seeking out equilibrium between the two. We will begin by looking at one and two point perspective relative to boxes, and then three point perspective. We will then take a closer look at ellipses to better understand them snd what it takes to make them read properly. Then we will explore more complex shapes in perspective such as cylinders, cones, pyramids, and so forth. Next we will move into using perspective in the context of environments, dealing with building grids in perspective and how to scale figures within an environment. From there we will look at how perspective is applied to orienting the major masses within a figure drawing, and finally we will explore the head and features in perspective.
