This workshop will consist of a 10 week figure painting in oil demonstration, taking a piece from start to finish, with a casual open forum discussion covering all aspects of the process and taking questions from the audience in real time.

In this class we will examine a procedural method of direct long pose portrait painting, beginning with the gesture and finishing with glazing.

In this class we will take a close look at functional perspective drawing in an effort to reconcile it to optical perception and freehand gesture drawing, seeking out equilibrium between the two.

In this class we will study a systematic and priority driven procedure for painting the portrait in oil paint.
